Rahat Rahman, a renowned filmmaker hailing from Bangladesh, currently resides in Canada, where he is actively pursuing his passion for filmmaking.
In 2016, he was selected as a director fellow in the prestigious Asian Film Academy 2016, held in Busan, South Korea, an honor that allowed him to collaborate with three other directors on the short film "hello uncle!", a project that showcased his exceptional storytelling abilities.
Fast forward to 2018, Rahat wrote and directed the segment "Jibon's Gun" in the First Bangladeshi Anthology Film "Sincerely Yours, Dhaka", a cinematic masterpiece that premiered at the esteemed Busan International Film Festival and has since been showcased and awarded at numerous film festivals worldwide.
Notably, "Jibon's Gun" was chosen as Bangladesh's official submission for the Best Foreign Language Film award at the Academy Awards in 2021, a testament to Rahat's dedication to his craft and his ability to create films that resonate with audiences globally.
Currently, Rahat is enrolled in a Film Production diploma program at Confederation College in Thunder Bay, Canada, where he is further honing his skills and expanding his knowledge in the world of filmmaking.
