Biography

Prakash, a former investment banker based in London, made a deliberate decision to leave behind his lucrative career in finance to pursue his passion for the film industry. This bold move marked the beginning of his journey as a filmmaker, and in 2003, he made his directorial debut with the Kannada movie Khushi, starring Vijay Raghavendra. The film received an overwhelming response, running in cinemas for over 100 days and cementing Prakash's position in the industry.

Following the success of his debut movie, Prakash collaborated with Vijay on three more occasions, directing the movies Rishi, Shree, and Gokula. However, his most successful venture to date remains the movie Milana, which featured his cousin, the renowned actor Puneeth Rajkumar, in the lead role. The movie's impressive run of 450 days in PVR cinemas earned Prakash the prestigious Udaya Film Award for Best Director.

In recent years, Prakash has continued to make a name for himself in the film industry, directing the action drama Tarak in 2017. This highly anticipated movie boasted an impressive cast, including Darshan, Sruthi Hariharan, and Shanvi Srivastava in lead roles. With his dedication to his craft and his ability to consistently deliver high-quality films, Prakash has established himself as a respected and sought-after director in the Kannada film industry.
