Polly Alexandra Walker, a talented actress, was born on May 19, 1966, in Warrington, Cheshire, England. Initially, she pursued a career in dance, graduating from the renowned Ballet Rambert School in Twickenham. However, an unfortunate injury at the age of 18 led her to re-evaluate her options and explore alternative creative avenues.
Undeterred, Polly began training at London's prestigious Drama Centre, where she eventually landed a role with the esteemed Royal Shakespeare Company. She initially portrayed small parts before gradually transitioning to more substantial roles on television.
Polly's breakthrough role came when she was cast as the titular character in the television series Lorna Doone in 1990. This success was swiftly followed by her feature film debut in Journey of Honor, released in 1991, where she played the character of Shogun Mayeda.
However, it was her portrayal of an English woman in an Irish terrorist brigade in Phillip Noyce's 1992 film Patriot Games that truly brought her to the attention of the public and critics alike.
