Peter was born in Houston, Texas, a city known for its rich cultural heritage and vibrant energy. He later attended Wesleyan University in Connecticut, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, cultivating his passion for language and literature. After completing his undergraduate studies, Peter made the bold decision to relocate to New York City, a hub for the performing arts, to pursue a career in acting.
During his two-year stint in New York, Peter honed his craft, perfecting his skills and building a strong foundation for his future endeavors. His hard work and dedication eventually paid off when he was accepted into The American Repertory Theatre's Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University and the Moscow Art Theatre, where he went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting.
Upon completing his graduate studies, Peter was cast in the Mark Taper Forum's production of The Cherry Orchard, starring the esteemed Annette Bening and Alfred Molina, in 2006. This notable achievement marked a significant milestone in his career, and it wasn't long before he received an offer to audition for the pilot of ABC's Notes from the Underbelly, a comedy series that would ultimately star him alongside Jennifer Westfeldt. The show premiered that summer and ran for two seasons, solidifying Peter's presence in the entertainment industry.
Next, Peter landed a recurring role as Operations Psychologist Nate Getz in the CBS drama NCIS: Los Angeles, a position he still holds to this day. His versatility as an actor was further showcased in the TBS comedy Wedding Band, which aired in the fall of 2012. Most recently, Peter wrapped up production on the NBC pilot Assistance, starring alongside the talented Krysten Ritter, Alfred Molina, Zach Cregger, and Vinette Robinson.
