Patrícia Gadelha Pillar, a Brazilian television, stage, and film actress, was born on January 11, 1964. Her journey in the entertainment industry began at the tender age of 16 when she became a photographic model. Despite initially studying journalism, Pillar eventually gave it up to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming an actress.
She joined the theatre group Asdrúbal Trouxe o Trombone, alongside the renowned actress Regina Casé, before landing her first film role in the movie Para Viver um Grande Amor, starring alongside the talented singer Djavan. This breakthrough role led to a part in the iconic 1985 Rede Globo telenovela Roque Santeiro, created by the esteemed Dias Gomes.
Since then, Pillar has starred in an impressive twelve other Globo telenovelas, showcasing her remarkable range and versatility as an actress. In addition to her television work, she has also appeared in eleven feature films, including the 1995 Academy Award-nominated O Quatrilho, alongside the accomplished actress Glória Pires.
In 2005, Pillar made her directorial debut with a documentary about the legendary Brazilian singer Waldick Soriano, titled Waldick - Sempre No Meu Coração, which translates to Waldick - Always In My Heart in Portuguese.
