Nicky Whelan, born on May 10, 1981, is an Australian actress and model who initially gained recognition in Australia for her role as Pepper Steiger in the soap opera Neighbors, appearing in over 100 episodes from 2006 to 2007.
Whelan made her move to Hollywood, starting with the comedy film Hollywood & Wine, where she played an aspiring actress arriving in the city. She then landed a recurring role in the ninth season of Scrubs, portraying the character Maya, a medical student, before the series was abruptly cancelled.
The actress continued to work on various projects, including the Farrelly brothers' comedy Good to Shoot, alongside Jason Sudeikis and Owen Wilson, as well as appearances in short films, B-series films, and television series.
In 2013, Whelan secured more prominent roles, appearing in six episodes of the detective series Franklin and Bash and landing her first regular role in the web-series Chosen, starring Milo Ventimiglia. She also shared the screen with Chad Michael Murray in the series.
The following year, Whelan took on supporting roles in two airplane-set feature films: the television film Flight 7500: One Way Back for the SyFy channel, featuring a cast of actors from television series, and the action movie Le Chaos, starring Nicolas Cage, in which she played a flight attendant.
In 2014, Whelan appeared in the thriller series Matador, sharing the poster with Gabriel Luna, but the show was cancelled after one season. She also starred in the pilot of another series, which unfortunately did not succeed.
Whelan continued to work on various projects, including the B-series romance Borrowed Moments with Brian Krause, the comedy Witness for Rent alongside Kevin Hart, Josh Gad, and Kaley Cuoco, and the experimental film Knight of Cups by Terrence Malick. She also appeared in five episodes of the series Satisfaction.
In recent years, Whelan has appeared in minor projects, including the thriller Usurpation, which she shares with Nicolas Cage and Gina Gershon.
