Nathan Blair's passion for movies has been a lifelong endeavor, rooted in his childhood fascination with cinematic masterpieces. Growing up in the 1980s, his all-time favorite film remains the iconic "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark". Despite his childhood dreams of becoming a filmmaker, he initially deemed it an impossible feat. However, fate had other plans.
As a graphic designer, Nathan felt an unmistakable calling from God to pursue a career in filmmaking. This divine summons sparked a mix of excitement and terror, leading him to embark on a journey of fasting and prayer. In his own words, "God only made me wait 2 meals thankfully". It was during this period of introspection that God spoke to him with a simple yet profound message: "Go".
With an impressive portfolio comprising five feature films – "A Perfect Chord", "2nd Greatest", "A High School Story", "SCION", and "Sleeper Agent" – Nathan has honed his skills as a writer, director, cinematographer, and editor. His commitment to crafting high-level crossover films with a Christ-centered message has earned him recognition as a prominent figure in the faith-based industry.
Recently, Nathan took on the role of Executive Director at Cross Wind Productions, a 501(c)3 ministry dedicated to empowering the next generation of Christian filmmakers. This initiative aims to inspire, encourage, and train young filmmakers within a Christian worldview. Nathan has emphasized the importance of catering to the youth audience, stating, "While Christian filmmakers are producing new content that speaks to adults, Hollywood works tirelessly to capture the hearts and minds of our children". Cross Wind Productions provides a platform for teens to create movies that resonate with their peers, using a language and tone that speaks directly to their hearts and minds.
