Bentley graduated from a three-year acting course at the prestigious Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in 2004, marking the beginning of a remarkable career in film, theatre, and television. Her professional journey commenced with a television debut in an episode of Holby City in 2004, followed by an appearance in Blue Murder, where she portrayed a receptionist.
Early in her career, Bentley secured leading roles in various productions. She took on the role of Martha in Martha Loves Michael at the Edinburgh Fringe and appeared as Leah in Beautiful Thing at the Sound Theatre. Additionally, she played a receptionist in Burn at the National Theatre, showcasing her versatility as a performer.
Bentley's subsequent television and film appearances have been equally impressive. She has played WPC Maria Jackson in Dalziel and Pascoe, Leonilda in Casanova, Rachel in Grownups, and Shelley in the Channel 4 film The Mark of Cain. In 2008, she starred in the second series of Primeval, playing a leading role on ITV.
In the same year, Bentley appeared in the BBC One comedy drama Mutual Friends alongside Marc Warren, Keeley Hawes, Sarah Alexander, and Alexander Armstrong. She also played medical student Holly Farr in Silent Witness. In 2009, she appeared as Mina in the Jonathan Creek Christmas Special.
Bentley has continued to work in television, appearing alongside Joel Fry in both the BBC3 comedy series White Van Man and ITV2 comedy series Plebs. In January 2013, she played Rose in Miranda, and later that year, she appeared in the ITV1 comedy drama series Great Night Out as Colleen.
