Michael was born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, where he spent his formative years developing a strong foundation for his future endeavors. During his junior year of high school, he took a chance and auditioned for New Jersey's Governor's School of the Arts, a prestigious program that accepted only 12 students from across the state. This opportunity not only helped him to gain exposure to the arts but also provided him with a full scholarship to the Catholic University of America, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.
Throughout his college career, Michael supported himself by working as a theater carpenter, a skill that would later serve him well in his acting career. He had the opportunity to hone his craft by portraying significant roles in several productions, including Jim O'Connor in Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie and The Beast in Beauty and the Beast.
After graduating from college, Michael ventured into the world of feature films, appearing in several notable productions, such as The River Murders opposite Ray Liotta, Nowhere Man, Desolation Angels (a Telluride Film Festival winner),and Under Hellgate Bridge. His early television career was marked by his debut role as Cameron on NBC's Another World, a show that remains close to the hearts of many dedicated fans.
Since then, Michael has continued to make a name for himself in the television industry, taking on numerous guest star roles in popular shows such as Hawaii Five-0, Castle, Major Crimes, Rizzoli & Isles, Saving Grace, The Mentalist, 24, and Bones. He has also had the opportunity to lend his voice to several video games, including Call of Duty: Black Ops II and L.A. Noire.
Today, Michael resides in Los Angeles, California, where he is actively involved in various philanthropic endeavors. He works with non-profit organizations to build housing for the homeless, with a focus on seniors, veterans, and at-risk foster youth. To stay physically active, he practices Krav Maga and enjoys tuna fishing and salsa dancing. Michael is also an avid fan of film festivals and can often be found attending these events to support his fellow artists and stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the industry.
