Michael Bryan French was born in Lackawanna, New York, and spent his formative years in Elmira, New York.
Early in his career, French joined The Wooster Group as an associate member, subsequently transitioning to work on Broadway in Neil Simon's iconic production of Biloxi Blues.
French's Off-Broadway credits include notable performances at The New York Shakespeare Festival, Playwrights Horizons, The Vineyard Theater, and Soho Rep, as well as numerous regional theaters across the country, including The Actor's Theater of Louisville, Old Globe of San Diego, and Merrimack Regional Theater, among many others.
In 1990, French relocated to Los Angeles, where his focus shifted to television and film. However, in 2010, he returned to his roots in New York, rekindling his passion for the performing arts.
