Don De Maris was a talented writer who made significant contributions to the world of Disney comics. During his illustrious career, he worked on various comic strips for King Features Syndicate, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.

One of De Maris' most notable collaborations was with the legendary Floyd Gottfredson, with whom he co-created iconic characters such as Phantom Blot, Chief O'Hara, and Detective Casey. Their creative partnership resulted in the development of these beloved characters, which continue to entertain audiences to this day.

In 1942, De Maris and Gottfredson bestowed upon Minnie Mouse a full name, Minerva Mouse, in the four-month comic strip story "The Gleam". This significant milestone further cemented De Maris' status as a master writer in the Disney universe.

De Maris also lent his expertise to Carl Barks, assisting him on one of his Donald Duck stories, titled "Too Many Pets". This collaboration not only showcased De Maris' versatility but also his ability to work seamlessly with other renowned writers.
