Melody was born and raised in Singapore, a melting pot of cultures, to a Singaporean-Chinese father and a Thai-English mother, whose diverse backgrounds undoubtedly played a significant role in shaping her unique perspective and artistic expression.
Following the completion of her O'levels, Melody embarked on a remarkable journey, juggling tertiary education with her burgeoning acting career, which began with a regular role in Singapore's popular local television sitcom, Happy Belly, in 1996. This early exposure laid the foundation for her future success, as she went on to star in various English and Mandarin television dramas and sitcoms, including Spin (2000),Singapore Short Stories (2004),A New Life (2005),and Point of Entry (2010).
Melody's breakthrough performance came with her debut lead acting role in the well-known Singapore film, The Teenage Textbook Movie, in 1998, which cemented her status as a talented and versatile actress.
In addition to her acting career, Melody has also ventured into television presenting, hosting several kids' genre and lifestyle/sports programs, such as Groom My Room (2005),New Zealand On Wheels (2007),Generation Ex (2007),and Goals On Sunday (2011).
Melody's impressive resume recently expanded to include radio deejaying, as she took on the role of a part-time weekend radio jock for Singapore's newest radio station, Kiss 92.
In 2013, Melody made a notable guest appearance in HBO Asia's Serangoon Road, starring alongside the renowned actress Joan Chen.
