Maureen Starkey Tigrett, born Mary Cox on August 4, 1946, and later known as Mo Starkey, was a talented hairdresser hailing from Liverpool, England, who etched her name in history as the first wife of the illustrious Ringo Starr, the renowned drummer of the Beatles.
As a fledgling hairdresser in Liverpool, Maureen crossed paths with Ringo Starr at the iconic Cavern Club, where the Beatles were thrilling audiences with their music. The serendipitous encounter would prove to be the catalyst for a lifelong connection.
Years later, on January 20, 1965, Ringo Starr popped the question to Maureen at the esteemed Ad Lib Club in London, and the couple tied the knot at the Caxton Hall Register Office in London in 1965. Unfortunately, their union came to an end in 1975, marking the conclusion of their marriage.
