Matthew Orton is a British writer and producer who graduated from Magdalen College, the University of Oxford in 2010 with a first-class honors degree in History.
His debut feature screenplay, CLEAN, was featured on the prestigious Brit List, showcasing his early talent in the industry.
In 2012, Orton won a BBC young writers' competition, a significant achievement that highlighted his potential as a writer.
Early in his career, Matt participated in the Guiding Lights feature scheme, where he was mentored by Academy Award-nominated writer Matt Charman, and was later named a 'Star of Tomorrow' by Screen International, a testament to his exceptional abilities.
In 2015, Orton sold a spec screenplay to MGM about the capture of Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann, which went on to feature on the Black List and the Brit List in 2016.
The script was eventually produced and released in 2018 as the feature film Operation Finale, directed by Chris Weitz and starring Oscar Isaac and Sir Ben Kingsley.
Currently, Orton is working on his TV series Devil's Peak, based on Deon Meyer's acclaimed Benny Griessel novels, which is in production for MNET, Lookout Point, and Expanded Media.
Additionally, Orton is penning additional scenes and material for Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World, which will undergo additional photography in spring-summer 2024.
