Marcus Scribner, a fourth-generation Los Angeles native, was born on January 7th at Cedars-Sinai, the same hospital where his mother was born. This marked the beginning of a long legacy in his family, which was evident in the naming of his father Troy, who chose his name inspired by Greek and Roman history and mythology. This tradition continued with Marcus and his sister Athena, who were named after their father's love for ancient cultures.
As a young boy, Marcus booked his first big guest star on the television show "Castle" at the age of 10, and to celebrate, he got his first puppy, a feisty beagle named Zeus. This marked the beginning of a successful career in the entertainment industry, which would take him to new heights in the years to come.
In September 2014, Marcus landed his first series regular role as Andre Jr on ABC's "black-ish," a show that went on to become the highest-rated new comedy of the season. For his work on the show, Marcus received an NAACP Image Award, and the show was honored with multiple NAACP Awards, a Peabody Award, and Emmy nominations.
Marcus has always been passionate about animation, and his dream came true when he landed the role of Buck, a rambunctious dinosaur, in Pixar's "The Good Dinosaur." He also became a part of the DreamWorks family in the animated series "Home: Adventures with Tip & Oh," which aired on Netflix.
As a strong advocate for positive messages, Marcus is excited to be one of the leads in the upcoming teen feature "Alexander IRL." In his free time, Marcus enjoys traveling the globe and doing humanitarian work. He was recently named the first Youth Ambassador by the Beaches Resorts and Sandals Foundation, and has visited several islands in the Caribbean to help bring a higher education to children.
Marcus is also the Chief Youth Innovator for Reserve Protection Agency in South Africa, where he works to protect Africa's beautiful animals. An honor student, Marcus is working diligently towards his dream of attending one of the great Pac-12 Universities, with Stanford and UCLA being his top choices.
Marcus Scribner's journey is a testament to his passion, dedication, and love for the entertainment industry, as well as his commitment to using his platform for good. With his bright future ahead of him, Marcus is sure to make a lasting impact in the world of entertainment and beyond.
