Maimi's journey in Hello! Project began at a young age, when she joined the Hello! Project Kids, a group of talented children who were trained to become future stars. She was later part of the group ZYX, the first group to feature Hello! Project Kids, before taking on a leadership role in °C-ute.
In addition to her work with ℃-ute, Maimi was also a member of the SATOYAMA movement unit DIY♡ and the SATOUMI movement unit Mellowquad. Her athleticism was showcased when she was part of the group Little Gatas, where she held the title of sub-captain and was known for being one of the fastest runners in Hello! Project.

The movie premiered on July 25, 2009, and the DVD was released on January 6, 2010.
