Yajima Maimi is a multifaceted Japanese artist who has made a significant impact in the entertainment industry. As a former idol, she was the leader of the renowned group ℃-ute and the leader of Hello! Project, a prestigious organization that has nurtured numerous talented artists.
Maimi's journey in Hello! Project began at a young age, when she joined the Hello! Project Kids, a group of talented children who were trained to become future stars. She was later part of the group ZYX, the first group to feature Hello! Project Kids, before taking on a leadership role in °C-ute.
In addition to her work with ℃-ute, Maimi was also a member of the SATOYAMA movement unit DIY♡ and the SATOUMI movement unit Mellowquad. Her athleticism was showcased when she was part of the group Little Gatas, where she held the title of sub-captain and was known for being one of the fastest runners in Hello! Project.
Maimi's talents extend beyond music and dance, as she has also ventured into acting. She collaborated with fellow Hello! Project artist Abe Natsumi on a single titled "16sai no Koi Nante," which was released in 2008. In 2009, she appeared in the movie "Fuyu no Kaidan" (Winter Ghost Story),where she played the role of a protagonist tasked with exterminating evil spirits and ghosts. The movie premiered on July 25, 2009, and the DVD was released on January 6, 2010.
