Katherine Sian Moennig, born on December 29, 1977, is a renowned American actress, widely recognized for her captivating performances in various television and film roles. One of her most notable roles is that of Shane McCutcheon on the critically acclaimed television series, The L Word, as well as her portrayal of Jake Pratt on the television drama, Young Americans.
Moennig's impressive acting career has also seen her take on a variety of other roles, including that of Dr. Miranda Foster on the CBS medical drama, Three Rivers, which premiered in 2009. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to a Broadway dancer mother, Mary Zahn, and a violin maker father, William H. Moennig III, Moennig's ancestry is a rich blend of German, Scottish, and Irish heritage.
