Joy embarked on an illustrious academic journey, culminating in her graduation from the esteemed Artez Academy of Dramatic Arts in Arnhem in the year 2019.
Throughout her time at the academy, Joy had the opportunity to hone her craft, taking to the stage in numerous productions with prominent theater companies such as Toneelgroep Oostpool and Het Nationale Theater.
One of her most notable performances during this period was in the play "Onze Straat", directed by the accomplished Daria Bukvic, for which she received a well-deserved nomination for most outstanding performance in a supporting role, a testament to her exceptional talent.
In addition to her work on stage, Joy also ventured into the realm of playwriting and co-direction, crafting a solo-play titled "Stamboom Monologen" that delved into the theme of self-discovery and heritage.
The play received widespread acclaim, and Joy's unique perspective and skillful storytelling earned her a permanent appointment at the prestigious International Theater Amsterdam, under the artistic direction of the renowned Ivo van Hove, in the year 2020.
