Izabella Anna Mikolajczak was born on January 21, 1981, at 3:15 a.m. in Lodz, Poland, to a pair of Polish actors, Grazyna Dylag and Aleksander Mikolajczak.
As a young girl, Izabella was drawn to the world of ballet, and at the age of ten, she auditioned for the National Ballet School in Warsaw. Her talent and dedication earned her a spot in the prestigious school, where she continued to hone her craft until the age of 14.
In 1995, Izabella left Warsaw for Biennale, where she attended a summer workshop and was discovered by an American choreographer. This chance encounter led to a scholarship to study ballet in New York City, and on her 15th birthday, Izabella bid farewell to Poland and hello to the Big Apple.
Izabella's time at the School of American Ballet was marked by impressive performances and a passion for dance that only grew stronger with each passing day. However, her dreams were temporarily put on hold when she suffered an injury to her vertebrae, forcing her to leave the world of dance behind.
The casting director of a silent made-for-television movie, Lithuania You Are My Motherland, reached out to Izabella with a role offer, marking her acting debut. Shot on location in Poland, Russia, and Lithuania, the film was a thrilling experience for Izabella, who found that acting filled the void left by her departure from dance.
Izabella's thirst for knowledge led her to study acting at Strassberg and modeling with Q models. However, she soon realized that acting requires more than just lessons and a portfolio. To truly succeed, one needs an agent, and agents reside in Los Angeles.
With a newfound determination, Izabella packed her bags and headed to the City of Angels. She began working unofficially with a prominent agent, which led to her first audition for Jerry Bruckheimer's Coyote Ugly. This breakthrough role marked the beginning of a successful film career, with Izabella's "all or nothing" attitude propelling her to the top.
Today, Izabella splits her time between Los Angeles and New York, where she continues to pursue her passion for acting and inspire others with her unwavering dedication and perseverance.
