M. David "Ike" White, a renowned American musician, singer/songwriter, and artist, had his remarkable musical talent unearthed by the astute record producer Jerry Goldstein, while White was incarcerated at the California Correctional Institution, Tehachapi, serving a life sentence for murder in the early 1970s.
As fate would have it, White's musical abilities were discovered within the confines of the correctional facility, a setting that would later prove to be an unconventional yet pivotal backdrop for his artistic journey.
The album "Changing Times," released in 1976, was a testament to White's perseverance and artistic expression, with the recording taking place at the California Men's Colony, a male-only state prison situated northwest of the city of San Luis Obispo, California.
