Hossein Amini, a multifaceted creative force, was born on January 18, 1966, in Iran, but later became a British citizen. As a screenwriter, Amini has been actively involved in the industry since the early 1990s.
Throughout his illustrious career, Amini has received numerous accolades for his outstanding work. Notably, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Writing – Adapted Screenplay for his screenplay adaptation of the 1997 film The Wings of the Dove.
Amini's impressive portfolio also includes a "Best Adapted Screenplay" award from the Austin Film Critics Association for his work on Drive (2011),a critically acclaimed film based on James Sallis' novel. Additionally, he made his directorial debut with The Two Faces of January, an adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's novel, where he both wrote and directed the film.
