Heidi Klum is a multifaceted individual, having excelled in various professions including modeling, television personality, businesswoman, fashion designer, singer, television producer, author, and actress. She has made a lasting impression in the entertainment industry, gracing the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 1998 and becoming the first German model to be named a Victoria's Secret Angel.
As a successful model, Klum went on to become the host and judge of Germany's Next Topmodel and the reality show Project Runway, earning her an Emmy nomination in 2008 and a win in 2013 for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program, which she shared with co-host Tim Gunn. Throughout her career, Klum has been nominated for six Emmy Awards.
Born and raised in Bergisch Gladbach, a town outside Cologne, West Germany, Klum is the daughter of Erna, a hairdresser, and Günther Klum, a cosmetics company executive. Her entry into the modeling world came when a friend convinced her to participate in a national modeling contest called "Model 92". Out of 25,000 contestants, Klum emerged as the winner on April 29, 1992, and was subsequently offered a modeling contract worth US$300,000 by Thomas Zeumer, CEO of Metropolitan Models New York.
