Sarah Hayley Orrantia was born on February 21, 1994, and is a multi-talented American actress, singer, and songwriter.
Orrantia's passion for singing began at the tender age of nine, and she started receiving professional training at 12. By 13, she had written her first song, and by 14, she had recorded her first EP of cover songs.
She collaborated with renowned songwriter Jamie Houston, who had previously worked on the Disney High School Musical movies. Orrantia recorded the vocals for Houston's "Magic of a Friend," which was featured on the Disney soundtrack for Tinkerbell and The Lost Treasure in 2010.
Orrantia's background vocals were also featured on the soundtracks for Demi Lovato's Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam and Miley Cyrus's Hannah Montana Forever.
At the age of 15, Orrantia made her acting debut in a Sprint commercial in 2011. She then landed a role in the independent film Cooper and the Castle Hills Gang, which premiered at the Dallas International Film Festival.
In the summer of 2011, Orrantia auditioned for the first season of The X Factor, impressing the judges with her vocals. Although she originally auditioned as a solo artist, she was later grouped with three other female singers, known as Lakoda Rayne, for the remainder of the auditions. Unfortunately, they were eliminated during the fifth week.
Since 2013, Orrantia has played the lovable and talented Erica Goldberg on the ABC comedy series The Goldbergs. The show's creator, Adam F. Goldberg, was so impressed with Orrantia's singing talent that he has written several episodes featuring her character's singing, with plans to continue showcasing her talents in future episodes.
In 2015, Orrantia appeared in the movie God's Not Dead 2, which was released on April 1, 2016.
