Hardik Mehta is a multifaceted writer-director, effortlessly transitioning between fiction and non-fiction formats. His documentary film, Amdavad Ma Famous, premiered in 2016 and has since traveled to numerous film festivals worldwide, including HotDocs Canada, PalmSprings, US, and the French Academy of Cinema, garnering several prestigious awards, including the Swarna Kamal and the National Award for Best Non-Feature Film in 2015.
Mehta's feature film debut, Kaamyaab, was produced by Red Chillies Entertainment and Drishyam Films, and received widespread critical acclaim upon its theatrical release in 2020. The film also made its World Premiere at the Busan International Film Festival. His second feature, Roohi, starring Rajkumar Rao and Janhvi Kapoor, was released theatrically in 2021.
In addition to his directorial work, Mehta co-wrote the film Trapped in 2017 and the Amazon series Paatal-Lok, which consisted of nine episodes and earned the writing team the FilmFare Awards for Best Story and Best Screenplay. Mehta served as the showrunner and director for the Netflix series Decoupled, starring R Madhavan, in 2021. His latest project is a romantic drama for Dharmatic Entertainment and Amazon Prime's upcoming anthology, which he has just completed filming.
