Gregory Scott Cummins is a renowned American character actor, celebrated for his recurring roles in the popular TV series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and "Bosch".
Born and raised in Orinda, California, which is situated in the picturesque East Bay Area of Northern California, Gregory's journey in the entertainment industry began in 1985, following the completion of his Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of California, Los Angeles (U.C.L.A.).
Prior to pursuing a career in television and film, Gregory honed his acting skills by performing in numerous theatrical productions. He has since become a versatile actor, taking on lead, supporting lead, and supporting roles in a wide range of feature films and television shows, including episodic series, sitcoms, and network and cable movies.
Despite being primarily known for playing complex, often villainous characters, Gregory has also showcased his comedic and dramatic range in various roles. In addition to his academic pursuits, Gregory was a standout athlete, earning a football scholarship to attend the University of California, Berkeley, where he was the starting punter for the California Golden Bears during the 1974 and 1975 seasons. He later transferred to the University of Hawaii, where he continued to excel on the football field, leading the nation in multiple punting categories during his final two years.
Gregory's impressive athletic career almost led him to the National Football League (NFL),as he was offered a contract by the Green Bay Packers, but he ultimately decided to pursue a career in acting instead. He did, however, sign with the San Diego Chargers the following year, only to be released due to injury.
Throughout his 35-year-long career in the entertainment industry, Gregory has continued to captivate audiences with his talented performances on screen. When his schedule permits, he also shares his expertise by teaching acting classes.
