Gandja Monteiro, a multifaceted and accomplished director, has recently concluded work on the upcoming Marvel/Disney+ series Agatha All Along, following her direction of episodes 105 and 106 of Netflix's Wednesday, alongside Tim Burton, and two episodes of The Witcher's third season.
Prior to her extensive work on these projects, Monteiro served as the producing director on Showtime's The Chi season 4, where she directed nearly half the season, including the finale.
Monteiro's extensive directing credits also include the final two episodes of Panic for Amazon, created by Lauren Oliver, and episodes of Brand New Cherry Flavour for Netflix, created by Nick Antosca and Lenore Zion.
Her journey in TV directing began with episodes of VIDA for Starz.
Born in New York City's Lower East Side and raised in Brazil, Monteiro was exposed to diverse cultures from a young age, which has significantly influenced her work.
Monteiro is a graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts and AFI's Directing Workshop for Women, as well as a fellow of Fox's TV Directing Lab.
Throughout her career, Monteiro has directed work in over a dozen countries, on four continents, and in eight languages, including commercials and branded content for prominent brands such as Nike, Adidas, Google, Coca-Cola, AT&T, and Chevrolet, as well as music videos for rappers like Marcelo D2 and Pusha-T.
Monteiro is also set to direct the feature film Sabu for Warner Bros., produced by MACRO, starring Anthony Ramos, based on the life of Hector "Sabu" Monsegur, the founder of 'Lulzsec', an offshoot of the infamous hacking collective "Anonymous."
In addition, Monteiro is directing the final two episodes of the upcoming first season of The Walking Dead: Dead City, the next chapter of The Walking Dead.
