Born in Fremantle, Western Australia, this talented individual embarked on a journey in the world of television at the tender age of 12, making appearances in various shows.
With a passion for the performing arts, he was awarded a scholarship to study acting at John Curtin College of the Arts and subsequently accepted into the prestigious Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, straight out of high school.
His impressive skills earned him a nomination for an Australian Film Institute Award for his lead role in Jewboy, a film that received international recognition, screening in Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival and the Discovery Section at the Sundance Film Festival.
In 2007, he was invited to join the esteemed Sydney Theatre Company Actor's Company, where he had the opportunity to play Prince Hal in War of the Roses opposite the renowned Cate Blanchett, earning him a Helpmann Award and a Sydney Theatre Award for his outstanding performance.
His extensive credits with the Sydney Theatre Company also include Riflemind, directed by the acclaimed Philip Seymour Hoffman, and Josef K in an adaptation of The Trial.
In 2010, he took on the iconic role of Richard III for the Melbourne Theatre Company, receiving his second Helpmann Award and a Green Room Award for his exceptional performance. The following year, he played the title role in a sold-out season of Hamlet for the Melbourne Theatre Company.
