Eric Casaccio's journey in the entertainment industry spans numerous areas, commencing with his involvement in Boston Regional Theatre Productions and independent films. Concurrently, he worked for Boston Casting, responsible for recruiting talent for commercials, industrials, theater productions, and independent films, while also taking on crew positions on local movies.
In 1997, Eric relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his passions for acting and writing, subsequently penning his first feature screenplay, "David's Walls." Following the completion of several drafts, he was determined to bring his creation to life, leading him to work in production on features, commercials, and music videos. These experiences in production and casting laid the groundwork for him to produce an experimental five-minute music video for "David's Walls," offering a symbolic glimpse into the storyline's main characters. The project premiered at various festivals across the country.
One of Eric's most notable achievements is the onstage charity event production of his screenplay, "Psychic Glitter," which raised nearly $2,000 for The Trevor Project in honor of Lawrence King, a teenager shot and killed for his sexual orientation and gender expression. Eric wore multiple hats, writing, producing, co-directing, and starring in the feature-length lead role, while raising awareness for this unforgettable tragedy.
From 2011 to 2016, Eric's short films "Freak" and "Narcissist" garnered several awards on the film festival circuit and received critical acclaim. These stories of self-acceptance and dealing with narcissist abuse resonated with mainstream, international, underground, and LGBT audiences worldwide, earning positive reviews. Both projects were distributed worldwide through IndieFlix, Dekkoo, Revry, and Fearless, and are available on Amazon Prime Video in certain countries.
Eric's educational background includes studying abroad with the London Theatre Program and graduating with honors from Roger Williams University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree. He has also studied acting at the Michael Chekhov Connection and appeared in numerous award-winning short films.
Currently residing in St. Petersburg, Florida, Eric's creative career has expanded to include professional coaching artists to overcome their doubts and enhance their art forms.
In recent times, Casaccio has achieved success in screenwriting competitions, with his feature-length screenplay "Twin Flames" and short "Always Love" placing as a quarterfinalist, semi-finalist, and finalist, respectively. Additionally, he was nominated for Best Actor at the 2022 Dunedin International Film Festival for his leading role in the short film "My Sick Love."
