Castillo was a visionary founding member of The Latino Theater Company, playing a pivotal role in the company's creative endeavors. Alongside his fellow collaborators, he co-wrote the company's influential plays, "Stone Wedding" and "August 29", leaving an indelible mark on the theatrical landscape.
Beyond his work in playwriting, Castillo expanded his artistic horizons by writing and directing the documentary film "The History of The Latino Theater Company", a cinematic chronicle that immortalized the company's rich history. Moreover, he co-produced the company's annual comedy extravaganza, "Noche de Risa y Susto", showcasing his versatility as a creative force.
In 1997, Castillo founded Four Brown Hats Entertainment (FBHE),a film and theater production company, where he continued to push boundaries as a writer, director, and producer. One of his notable projects with FBHE was the adaptation and direction of "The Last Angry Brown Hat", a testament to his skill in bringing innovative stories to life.
Castillo's impressive body of work also includes the theater piece "Veteranos: A Legacy of Valor", a poignant tribute to the military contributions made by Latinos in America's defense. His extensive catalog of feature film scripts includes "Yo Solo", "The Cobra", "Valley of the Dead", "Deerdancer", and "The Last Angry Brown Hat", cementing his reputation as a talented and prolific storyteller.
