Thomas Edward "Eddie" Gilbert Jr., a renowned American professional wrestler and booker, was affectionately known by his iconic ring name, "Hot Stuff" Eddie Gilbert. This multifaceted personality took a significant step in his personal life by marrying wrestling valet Missy Hyatt in October 1987. However, this union did not last forever, as the couple parted ways in 1989.
Eddie Gilbert's romantic journey continued as he briefly tied the knot with Debrah "Madusa" Miceli in 1992. Unfortunately, his life was cut short when he suffered a fatal heart attack on February 18, 1995, in his apartment in Isla Verde, Puerto Rico. The discovery of his lifeless body was made by Ken Wayne and Jason The Terrible.
Eddie's father, Tommy Gilbert, revealed that injuries to his chest and heart muscle, which occurred in a serious car crash in 1983, could have potentially contributed to his heart condition. Furthermore, Eddie's alleged reliance on painkillers since the accident may have also played a significant role in his untimely demise.
In recognition of his remarkable career and lasting impact on the world of professional wrestling, the Eddie Gilbert Memorial Brawl was held annually from 1996 to 1999 in his memory.
