Dave Goelz was born on July 16, 1946, and is a renowned puppeteer, closely associated with The Muppets and their iconic characters. Among his most notable Muppet creations are Gonzo, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, Zoot, Beauregard the janitor, and Tiny, the enormous chicken from The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland.
In addition to his Muppet work, Goelz has also brought to life characters from Fraggle Rock, including Boober Fraggle and Uncle Travelling Matt. His impressive repertoire also includes puppetry for characters in the beloved film Labyrinth, such as Sir Didymus and Wiseman's Hat, voiced by David Shaughnessy.
Beyond his work as a puppeteer, Goelz has also lent his voice to the iconic Disney character Figment. Following the passing of Jim Henson in 1990, Goelz took on the role of puppeteering Waldorf in 1992, further solidifying his legacy as a master puppeteer.
