Dane Komljen, a filmmaker born in 1986 in Yugoslavia, pursued his educational endeavors in film directing in the esteemed city of Belgrade. Following the completion of his studies, Komljen ventured into creating a video installation in his native Serbia, further solidifying his artistic prowess with the production of short films in Bosnia and Croatia.
As he continued to hone his craft, Komljen's academic journey led him to Le Fresnoy in France, where he delved into the realm of contemporary art during his Master's studies. This intellectual and artistic immersion ultimately bore fruit in 2015, as his film "Our Body" was selected for the prestigious Tiger Awards Competition for Short Films.
The recognition did not stop there, as "Our Body" went on to receive a nomination for the European Film Awards courtesy of the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR). Building upon this momentum, Komljen returned to the Rotterdam competition in 2016 with his co-directed film "All Still Orbit", cementing his reputation as a talented and innovative filmmaker.
