Charles Lewis Low, a renowned American actor, was born on July 21, 1928, in New York City to a Russian mother and Austrian-Polish father.
Low's most notable role was Morris "Morrie" Kessler in the critically acclaimed film Goodfellas (1990),directed by Martin Scorsese. Kessler's character was infamous for his comical "Morrie's Wig Shop" commercial and his persistent pestering of Jimmy Conway about money, leading to his eventual murder by Tommy DeVito.
Kessler's character was based on Martin Krugman, and Low was often seen wearing his signature dark brown leather blazer. He also appeared in several other notable films, including The Mission, The King of Comedy, and Once Upon a Time in America, directed by Sergio Leone.
