Biography

Charlie Alejandro's early life was marked by uncertainty, as she was abandoned by her birth mother at the tender age of two and taken in by her Godmother's family. Raised as their own, Charlie's adoptive mother, Maria Otilia Mainieri-Guerrero, brought her to the United States in 1969, where she was cast as Lucy in "Your a Good Man, Charlie Brown" shortly after arrival. Charlie's English skills were still developing, and the nuns taught her to memorize her lines phonetically, earning her huge praise and an invitation to audition for the WBGH Local kids show "Zoom". However, her mother's refusal to take her to the audition and subsequent discouragement from pursuing an acting career led Charlie to abandon her dreams.

Growing up in a low-income, dysfunctional home, Charlie left at the age of 17 after the birth of her first son, Derek. She went on to have three more sons with her first husband, earning her GED after Derek's birth, a medical assisting certificate after Eric's birth, and becoming a Metropolitan Police officer in Boston, Massachusetts, after Christopher's birth.

Charlie's time on the Metropolitan Police department was marked by trailblazing achievements, as she became the first female in the state of Massachusetts and one of only a handful of women on the tactical Unit (SOU). She remained an entry team member, trainer, search and rescue, and intel officer until the department was merged with the State Police, Capitol Police, and Registry Police in 1992.

Following her divorce from her first husband in 1994, Charlie remarried to Mel Alejandro in 1996, bringing four children of his own into their blended family. She took an early retirement from the state police to raise their nine children and went on to work as a Community organizer for the City of Lowell, MA, a Criminal Justice instructor, security adviser, and motivational speaker. Charlie also pursued her passion for acting, being cast as a lead in several independent movies, although the funding fell through and these projects were never completed. She continued to work in voice-over and instructional videos, both in English and Spanish.
