Cesar Millan, born César Millán Favela on August 27, 1969, is a renowned Mexican-American dog trainer who has gained widespread recognition for his self-taught expertise and television series The Dog Whisperer, now in its seventh season and broadcast in over eighty countries worldwide.
Before the inception of The Dog Whisperer, Millan dedicated himself to rehabilitating aggressive dogs and established the Dog Psychology Center in South Los Angeles, a venture that spanned from 2002 to 2008. The center is currently under construction in a new Los Angeles location as of late 2009.
Millan has also authored three bestselling books, including Cesar's Way, which have collectively sold over two million copies in the United States and are available in fourteen other countries. His first three books have all become New York Times bestsellers.
In 2009, Millan partnered with IMG to launch a monthly magazine titled Cesar's Way, which was met with significant success, with the Wall Street Journal reporting that half of American consumers recognized Millan at the time.
Alongside his wife, Ilusión Millan, Cesar founded the Cesar and Ilusión Millan Foundation, which was later rebranded as the Millan Foundation. He is currently collaborating with Yale University to develop a children's curriculum based on his work.
Throughout his career, Millan has attributed his success to a personal sense of balance, a quality that The New York Times has described as "a sort of über-balanced mien."
