Camille Bonora, also known as Camille Kampouris, was born on May 13, 1956, and is a former Muppet performer who has gone on to pursue a distinguished career in other fields. In addition to her work as a Muppet performer, Bonora currently serves on the board of BibleMesh online theological studies, and is a member of the editorial board for the Kairos Journal.
Born in New Jersey, Bonora graduated from the Catholic University of America, where she was a member of the prestigious academic honor society Phi Beta Kappa. She began her career in the entertainment industry, working in musical comedy and improvisational comedy. Her early work in these fields laid the foundation for her later success as a Muppet performer.
From 1985 to 1997, Bonora was one of the talented puppeteers who brought The Muppets to life on stage and screen. During her time with The Muppets, Bonora had a profound impact on the career of Joey Mazzarino, a fellow performer who would go on to become the head writer for Sesame Street and work on a number of other notable projects.
After retiring from her work as a Muppet performer in 1996, Bonora co-founded the Kairos Journal with her husband Emmanuel A. Kampouris. The journal is an online resource designed to assist pastors and church leaders with their work, providing access to Biblical references, historical precedents, quotations, and commentary.
Throughout her career, Bonora has demonstrated a commitment to using her talents to make a positive impact on the world. From her early work in musical comedy and improvisational comedy to her later success as a Muppet performer and her current work with the Kairos Journal, Bonora has consistently demonstrated a passion for storytelling and a desire to use her gifts to inspire and uplift others.
