Brett Rice, a talented individual, was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, as the oldest of four children. His educational journey was marked by attending various schools until he finally found his way to Marist Military Academy in Atlanta. Following his time at the academy, Brett served in the Army for a brief period.
One fateful day, Brett accompanied a friend to the theater building, where he waited as his friend auditioned for a show. The director, noticing Brett's presence, asked him if he was interested in auditioning as well. Brett seized the opportunity and landed a role, which marked the beginning of his intense passion for the theater.
For the next five years, Brett dedicated himself to the Atlanta theater scene, auditioning for nearly every production that came his way. This relentless pursuit of his craft led to a two-year contract after he landed a role in the TV pilot for The Catlins in 1982. His subsequent work included appearances in The Bear (1984),starring Gary Busey, and Poison Ivy (1985),alongside Michael J. Fox, Adam Baldwin, and Nancy McKeon.
A period of slower work followed, but Brett's luck took a dramatic turn in the 1990s. He enjoyed a remarkable run of success, with a slew of TV shows and films to his credit. Some of his notable roles during this period include I'll Fly Away (1991),In the Heat of the Night (1988),Walker, Texas Ranger (1993),and many more.
Brett's theatrical film credits include Forrest Gump (1994),Edward Scissorhands (1990),Kalifornia (1993),Passenger 57 (1992),From the Earth to the Moon (1998),The Waterboy (1998),and Remember the Titans (2000),in which he co-starred alongside Denzel Washington and Will Patton.
In addition to his extensive work in TV and film, Brett has accumulated over 75 credits for the stage. He has also become a Councilor at Large with SAG, seeking to increase his involvement in the organization's politics and negotiations with producers in Los Angeles and New York.
