Alfred Lettieri, a talented American actor, was born on February 24, 1928. He is notably recognized for his captivating portrayal of Virgil Sollozzo in the iconic film, The Godfather.
Throughout his career, Lettieri successfully conveyed an air of menace and ruthlessness in his film roles, which he attributed to his acquaintance with real-life gangsters, including the infamous Joey Gallo. His acting journey began at the age of 36 with a television film appearance in The Hanged Man.
Lettieri had the privilege of sharing the screen with some of Hollywood's most renowned stars, including the legendary Steve McQueen in The Getaway, the iconic Charles Bronson in Mr. Majestyk, the legendary John Wayne in McQ, and the highly acclaimed Marlon Brando and Al Pacino in The Godfather.
Sadly, Lettieri's life was cut short due to a heart attack in 1975, at the age of 47, leaving behind two children.
