Two roommates, Ray and Kenneth, are stuck in a rut. Ray debates superhero origin stories while working at a sporting goods store, while Kenneth counts pretzels at a factory and dreams of living alone. After thwarting a robbery dressed as ninjas, they become local heroes, but a serial killer starts targeting the Riverwards. With the help of a wealthy benefactor, they must catch the killer before Kate, Kenneth's crush, becomes the next victim.
