In the wake of the Pope's passing, Cardinal Melville is unexpectedly chosen to succeed him, but the faithful in St. Peter's Square are left waiting as he fails to emerge on the balcony. As panic spreads behind the Vatican's walls, Cardinal Melville is overcome with terror and declines the papacy.
