The documentary film Tohoku Tomo tells the story of international volunteers who came to Japan's aid after the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and tsunami, donating time, money, and resources to help rebuild the affected communities. Founded by members of the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET Program),these volunteers established non-profit organizations to connect with and support Tohoku's recovery, forming lasting bonds with the region and its people.
