In the late 19th century, a former teacher turned labor activist fights to improve the lives of exploited workers toiling in a textile factory, exposing the harsh realities of industrial labor.

Exploited textile factory workers in Turin, Italy at the turn of the century start a fight for better working conditions, with the help of Professor Sinigaglia, a Socialist who organizes their strike and gives form to their struggle.
