In 1942, a young Jewish girl named Misha, her Russian mother, and German father hide from the Germans in a small house in Ardennes, Belgium. After her parents are captured, Misha is taken in by a German family, where she faces harsh treatment. However, she finds solace with Ernest and his wife, who provide her with food and support. When the couple is arrested for sheltering Misha, she sets out on a perilous journey to find her parents, facing challenges and hardships along the way. She survives by living with wolves and crosses Germany, Poland, and Ukraine before finally returning to her hometown in March 1945, where she is reunited with Ernest and learns that her parents may have survived the concentration camp.
