A young woman, Natalie Becker, takes in a childhood friend, Jeffrey Moran, who's having issues with his immature and bullying stepfather, Jeremy. Meanwhile, Natalie's best friend Polly becomes obsessed with dating a pro baseball player, Zoo Knudson, and starts intruding on Natalie's personal life, making hasty conclusions and planning to leave for New York to be with Zoo.
