A vintage doll named Robert is given to a young boy Gene by his former housekeeper Agatha, who had been dismissed by his parents. After Agatha leaves, the family experiences a series of inexplicable and terrifying events, with furniture being vandalized, objects thrown around, and eerie laughter echoing through the night. Despite Gene's claims that Robert is responsible, his parents are skeptical, but as the occurrences intensify, they begin to suspect that the doll is indeed the source of the haunting.
