Ben Affleck plays Rudy Duncan, a man imprisoned for six years on a grand theft auto charge, who is released from prison after his cellmate Nick is killed during a prison riot. Rudy takes Nick's place and pretends to be him, getting involved with Nick's girlfriend Ashley and her criminal brother Gabriel, who coerces him into participating in a Christmas Eve casino robbery.
