In the midst of Japanese occupation in Hong Kong, a determined teacher and her betrothed join forces with Chinese resistance fighters, embarking on a perilous journey towards liberation.
Hong Kong is under Japanese occupation, and a primary school teacher, Fang Lan, finds herself entangled in a mission to rescue a novelist, Mao Dun, with the help of the anti-Japanese Dongjiang guerilla unit.
