Information for/from Outsiders: Chronicles from Kashmir

The play "Chronicles from Kashmir" has been in development since 2013, a collaboration between Dr. Nandita Dinesh and the Ensemble Kashmir Theatre Akademi in Srinagar. It is based on Argentine playwright Griselda Gambaro's 1992 play "Information for Foreigners". The site-adaptive performance takes place in a promenade and aims to create a balance between different voices and narratives about Kashmir. While it includes political commentary, it does not promote a specific ideology. The play aims to engage audiences with diverse perspectives from the Valley, using aesthetics and pedagogy. It acknowledges its limitations but hopes to spark more educated and less polarized opinions about the region.
