Hostile Guns background

Hostile Guns

A U.S. marshal embarks on a perilous journey, transporting a diverse group of prisoners to the state penitentiary, only to discover that one of the passengers is the woman he once loved.

In 1860s Texas, a ranch hand named Mike Reno gets into a fight with his uncle over unpaid wages, and then loses his earnings at a saloon. Arrested for disturbing the peace, Mike is sent to jail to await transport to Huntsville territorial prison. There, he meets Aaron Pleasant, a man sentenced to death for mistakenly shooting a child, and Marshal Willett tasks Marshal Gideon McCool with transporting them to Huntsville. Mike is offered a deal: pay a fine or work as a temporary deputy to help transport the prisoners. Mike chooses the latter and joins Marshal McCool on the journey to Huntsville, picking up more prisoners along the way, including a corrupt railroad official, a Mexican goat thief, and a saloon entertainer who killed her lover. The two must navigate the Texas badlands and keep the prisoners safe for three days.
