In 1979, producer Bobby Myers embarked on his first Canadian movie project, adapting the beloved novel "Lantern Moon" by Lindsay May Marshall. He acquired financing by casting a big-name Hollywood star, Michael Baytes, in the lead role, but this compromise led to creative differences and problems between the Canadian vision and the desire to make the movie more "American". Meanwhile, filmmaker Sandy Ryan documents the making of the movie while also working on her own lower-budget film, "Human Voices", with her own agenda.
